This was the first bowl I made in second semester on the wheel. The outside of the bowl had a very rippled texture, showing how it was pulled. However, the inside is very different, that being extremely smooth. It is so smooth in the middle because there was copious amounts of glaze that ran down during the firing. The mix of blue and green met at the bottom inside of the bowl, creating the look of a supernova almost. The outside was very lightly glazed because I did not want a very dark green color to take away from what the inside looked like. The thing I would have done better if I had done this bowl again was to throw it much larger. That has been the glaring problem for me during my experience throwing, and I'm still trying to improve on it. The best part of this bowl, to me, is the colors involved, specifically the contrast. Usually green and blue would mix together. Surprisingly, when they met at the bottom is created streaks of blue and almost a white affect.the lines on the outside create a rhythm that can only be created on the wheel.
